Wasson Endowment

Provides scholarships to the Annual Conference for students with a high GPA. Named in honor of Dr. William Wasson, founder and first President of the National Intramural Association (now NIRSA) and Honor Award Recipient.

Dr. Wasson passed away in 1991, but his legacy continued through the involvement of his wife, "Mama" Lee Wasson, who recently passed away on May 22, 2023.

The family continues their strong commitment to the NIRSA community in honor of Dr. Wasson and Lee “Mama” Wasson, who both believed that the power of family and community could change the world.
