Introduction to Outdoor Climbing Workshop
Wednesday, April 23, 2014  |  6:30am-2:30pm  |  FULL

If you have climbed indoors but have never experienced the outdoor world of climbing, then this workshop is for you! During the one-hour van ride to Kings Bluff, we will discuss types of climbing, protection, knots, large and small group management strategies, and more. Participants will learn how to tie a figure eight knot and be able to climb at least two times before heading back to Nashville. The day includes plenty of climbing and a lunch by the Cumberland River. Kings Bluff is a great location for beginners. It is single pitch (with mostly short routes), sport climbing on Tennessee limestone. Come take the outdoor challenge!

This is an eight-hour trip departing Opryland at 6:30am and returning at 2:30pm.
