Join other members of the higher education community including graduate students, faculty, and staff at the International Student Affairs Study Tour. Cosponsored by five Council of Higher Education Management Associations (CHEMA) member associations including NIRSA, the 2013 Student Affairs Study Tour offers a unique and exclusive occasion to engage in active collegial collaboration at the international level.
If your institution is looking to expand their efforts in international collaboration, this is a must-attend event. With stops in various cities, this study tour will provide an intimate, focused look at important historical, philosophical, and structural commonalities and differences in student affairs as organized and practiced in the United States and the host country. It will emphasize ways in which student affairs professionals and faculty members in both countries can assist each other in developing student affairs programs and services that most effectively address the needs of their student populations within the context of their own cultures and systems of higher education.
Faculty from Colorado State University and partners in Doha, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, are working with NIRSA and the partner organizations to produce this international study tour, focused on student affairs. This is an educational tour of three distinct regions of the Arabian Gulf to develop an understanding of the structure and practice of higher education in the region and gain insight into the issues and strategic directions for higher education and student services/affairs in this important region. Participation is limited to the first 50 registrants.
