William N. Wasson Student Leadership
& Academic Awards Nomination Form

Application deadline for the 2012 William Wasson Award is December 15, 2011 @ 5pm PST.

Nominees must meet enrollment criteria at time of nomination as follows:

  • full time undergraduate or graduate student at time of nomination.
  • or December 2011 graduate for the current academic year
  • or a Spring 2012 Graduate with less than full-time status

Each institution may nominate up to four (4) undergraduate and two (2) graduate students.  Nominators should compile information on the nominee in order to answer the questions as fully as possible.

One letter of support, written by a full-time recreational sports professional who is a Professional Member of NIRSA, is also required to be submitted for the nominee. The letter of support is limited to 400 words but is an important part of the nomination. It should specifically address how the nominee meets the award criteria and/or provide additional information that supports the application.

** All nominees should be prepared to submit a color 4x6 portrait-orientation photo of themselves to: NIRSA National Center at least three weeks in advance of the Annual Conference for display in the NIRSA booth at the Recreational Sports Exposition. Photos cannot be returned.

 

** Duplicate awards can be purchased for display in your facility. Please contact the NIRSA National Center for pricing information. Duplicate awards should be ordered at the time the Committee Chair announces awardees and will be mailed to the nominator after the conference.
