2010 USTA National Campus Championship
April 15-17, 2010 • Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex - Surprise, Arizona
The 2010 USTA National Campus Championship will be at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona.
This showcase event is a national effort by the United States Tennis Association, National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association, World TeamTennis and Intercollegiate Tennis Association to grow tennis on college campuses by building and improving recreational tennis opportunities for college students throughout the country. The 2010 USTA National Campus Championship is also a part of the NIRSA National Campus Championship Series.

Dates:
- April 14 • 5 - 7 pm - Team Registration - MANDATORY Coaches/Team Rep Meeting (7 PM)
- April 15 • Team Play - First Matches at 8am, plan accordingly.
- April 16 • Team Play
- April 17 • Team Play - all teams will have matches on Saturday, Players/Awards Banquet
Roster Deadline: March 17, 2010
Entry Fee: $275
Entry fee, play history and team roster will be the only items needed for the initial sign-up (pre-registration). Teams will be able to change roster up until March 17, 2010. After this date roster will be frozen and changes can only be made with approval from tournament director (Valerie McCutchan). Enrollment verification forms will be sent via email to team reps on March 22. This form will need all participants' signatures, and must also be signed by sport club director and the university registrar. If it takes more than three weeks to get the
registrar’s signature at your university, please contact us when you initially register.
Pre-registration for the 2010 USTA National Campus Championship at-large bids will be open January 12 - January 14. All teams must pre-register to be eligible for one of the at-large bids. Qualifying: Each USTA Section and a set number of bids, please review for dates of your section event USTA Sectional Campus Championship. The remaining spots in the National Championship are "first come first-serve" priority will go to those teams who competed in their USTA Section Campus Championship. Only one team per school will be allowed in the Championship. Teams will be notified after their sectional campus
championship.
Tournament Format: WORLD TEAMTENNIS format. Teams will play "Round Robin" or "Pool Play" and then advance into bracket play. Teams are guaranteed six matches. ALL TEAMS WILL HAVE MATCHES ON SATURDAY.
Matches: A match consists of five no-ad sets and includes men’s singles and doubles, women’s singles and doubles and one mixed doubles.
Game scoring: Each no-ad set is won by the first team to reach six games. A nine-point tiebreaker will be played at five games all in any set.
Rules for 2010
- All rostered players must have played in two events representing their team/school in the same academic year and prior to the USTA Campus Championship. An event is considered a dual match, a tournament, or a USTA Campus Championship - Sectional event.
- A player may play in only two sets per match, whether as a starter or a substitute (excluding the Supertiebreaker).
Teams: Minimum of 4 players (2 men, 2 women); maximum 10 players.
