Intramural Rules
Punt, Pass, and Kick
- Entries No advance entry is necessary (enter on site), but participants should allow enough time in order to get through the three stations.
- Equipment All equipment will be provided by the Office of Campus Recreation. Participants must use the balls and tees provided. Men will use a regular size football and women will be able to check out an intermediate size football. Special kicking shoes may be worn provided the use of such shoes does not delay the contest.
- General Rules
- Each participant will be allowed 3 trials at each event. S/he will be required to punt, pass, and kick down a straight line. The varying distance laterally from the line will be subtracted from the total distance.
- Participants will be expected to retrieve the footballs and help with the administration of the contest.
- Participants should be aware that there is a risk of injury in participation of intramural sports due to the inherent nature of the activity. Individuals participate in intramural sports at their own risk.
Placekicking Rules
- General Rules

- Each contestant will take placekicks from the 5, 15, 25, 30, and 35 yard lines. Each contestant will kick from the center of the field and the right and left hash marks from each distance.
- Three misses will eliminate a contestant from further competition.
- Contestants may not use more than a three step approach.
- Once the ball is placed on the tee, contestants have ten seconds to begin the approach.
- Players begin kicking from the 5 yard line, then move out to greater distances until three kicks are missed.
- Co-Rec teams must sign in before competing.
- Scoring
- The individual male, female, and co-rec team with the highest scores will be declared the winners. Co-rec placement will be determined by combining the scores of co-rec partners.
- The total scores of the top 4 finishers from an organization will be combined to determine the awarding of All-University points.
- There are a total of 45 possible points, awarded as follows:
- Distance of kick Points awarded 15 yds. (5 yd. line) 1 25 yds. (15 yd. line) 2 35 yds. (25 yd. line) 3 40 yds. (30 yd. line) 4 45 yds. (35 yd. line) 5
- Equipment
- Footballs and kicking tees are provided by the Office of Campus Recreation.
- Participants are required to use the provided equipment.
- Athletic shoes are allowed. Street shoes, boots, and shoes with metal spikes are not permitted.
- Participants should be aware that there is a risk of injury in participation of intramural sports due to the inherent nature of the activity. Individuals participate in intramural activities at their own risk.
