The Recreational Sports Journal (RSJ) is the scholarly publication of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association. Its purpose is to provide a source of empirical, theoretical, and applied research to the field of recreational sports.
Topics of interest to the Recreational Sports Journal include, but are not limited to, leadership, student development, programming, facility management and design, legal issues, personnel management and supervision, assessment, sponsorship, fundraising, marketing, and organizational development.
The Recreational Sports Journal is hosted online at HumanKinetics. NIRSA members can search online for articles of the current and back issues of RSJ (1977-current) by clicking here. Editor for the Recreational Sports Journal
Dr. Paul Milton of Ashland University is editor for the NIRSA Foundation’s Recreational Sports Journal. His three-year term runs from 2008-2011.
A member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association since 1976, Milton is a prolific writer and presenter who has served on the editorial board of the Recreational Sports Journal for the past fifteen years. He was selected for the editorship by a three-member selection committee in December 2004.
