Hello from Columbia. Welcome to the Missouri State Director's page. It is with great pleasure that I announce that The Missouri Intramural-Recreational State Association (MoIRSA) has been accepted by the NIRSA Board of Directors as an affiliate Association of NIRSA. Congratulations to the membership for taking a giant step forward by investing in the future of our profession in the Great State of Missouri.

The State Workshop is right around the corner on Nov. 5 & 6 with the theme of It’s Not How Hard You Fall but How You Get Up – Creating Opportunities in Times of Adversity. The workshop application and schedule can be found at the University of Missouri, MizzouRec website www.mizzourec.com. The Host Committee is putting the final touches on the workshop as you read this. The featured speaker at the welcome luncheon will be Mizzou Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Anderson who led the Tigers to the Elite Eight in last year’s NCAA Tournament.

Committee work will be  set aside during the workshop & a few positions still exist for committee assignments. If you have an interest in serving on a committee please email me expressing that interest. Standing committees within the State Association are:

• Constitution, By-laws and Operating Code
• Nominations & Elections
• State Workshop
• Scholarship
• Recognition
• Special Programs & Events

And finally, the MoIRSA executive committee is accepting nominations for the position on Student Representative for the State and Historian. Both positions will be filled at the workshop.
