NIRSA Region III
2010-2011 Member Network Region III Regional Representative Appointee
Since the fall of 2007, Sarah has been the Associate Director, Facilities of Campus Recreation at DePaul University. Sarah's involvement in NIRSA began in 1986 as a University of Illinois master's degree student, when she was elected as Region III Student Representative. She went on to work in the campus recreation field at Southern Illinois University and Valdosta State University for nine years before attending Florida State University to pursue her Ph.D. in Higher Education. Graduating in 1999, she then moved to the faculty side of higher education, teaching Recreation Administration at
Southeast Missouri State University and Aurora University until 2007.
Throughout her professional life, she has been a prolific conference presenter and has served NIRSA as a chair of several committees including Student Professional Development, Bylaws and Operating Code, Facilities Institute Host, and Career Opportunities Committees. She also was a member of the Student Learning Knowledge Community, and served as a faculty member and chair of the NIRSA School of Recreational Sport Management. She currently is on the Editorial Board of the Recreational Sports Journal.
Sarah is very excited to be serving the members of Region III in this capacity and looks forward to assisting the region and NIRSA in this transition year!
