2011 NIRSA Webinar Series
General Information
NIRSA is seeking proposals for the 2011 NIRSA webinar Series. These live streaming webcasts are designed to provide quality and convenient learning for collegiate recreational sports professionals and/or students. Each Webinar may vary in length between 90-120 minutes.
NIRSA seeks proposals on a variety of cutting edge and timely topics in Higher Education/Collegiate Recreational Sports in general. NIRSA particularly seeks proposals on topics related but not limited to:
- Aspects of Programming (sport clubs, intramurals, fitness, wellness, outdoor recreation, aquatics, etc.)
- Assessment (student learning/program effectiveness, etc)
- Facilities (building, remodeling, sustainability, etc.)
- Financial (economic realities, programming in the future with a budget from the past, generating income, sponsorships, etc)
- Equipment (maintenance schedule, depreciation, replacement, etc).
- Risk Management/Safety
- Standards (CAS Recreational Sports, Specialty Standards)
- Research (writing articles, conducting research, etc.)
If accepted, the presenter will develop a Power Point presentation including links to online resources and print publications. In particular, the presentation should be well balanced in providing a conceptual/theoretical framework as well as practical hands-on applications at the conclusion of the broadcast. A $100 presenter stipend will be offered to NIRSA professional and student members, to be used as a credit for future NIRSA Education events.
