NIRSA Regional Student Lead Ons

Definition

Student Lead Ons are regional professional development workshops designed by students and for students within each region. Student workshops are NIRSA workshops, and coordinators receive the same assistance and support from NIRSA that all other NIRSA workshop and conference hosts receive.

Mission

To encourage and enhance the professional growth and development of students interested in recreational sports by giving students an opportunity to participate in the planning process and administration of a workshop; to promote networking and informal interaction and to provide opportunities for learning and information sharing through programs and activities specifically oriented to students.

Selection Process for Lead On Coordinator(s)

Students interested in coordinating a Student Lead On should submit a letter of interest to the Regional Vice President/Regional Representative one year in advance of the workshop. If a decision-making process is required, a committee should be formed for selecting the coordinators. Whenever possible, this committee should consist of individuals previously involved in the planning process of a Student Lead On. The Regional Vice President/Regional Representative appoints this committee.

Planning Process

Consult the Workshop Planning Guide and work closely with your Regional Vice President/Regional Representative.
