Coming in summer 2010: The National Registry of Collegiate Recreational Sports Professionals

NIRSA's National Registry of Collegiate Recreational Sports Professionals is a recognition of collegiate recreation professionals that have attained a mastery of the profession's "Body of Knowledge" and have also made a commitment to continuing education and professional involvement. It will provide an endorsed program that can guide, encourage, and recognize purposeful and continuous professional development for collegiate recreation professionals. Members of the Registry will be committed to continue to be active learners in eight core knowledge areas:

  • Philosophy & Theory
  • Programming
  • Management Techniques
  • Business Procedures
  • Facility Management, Planning & Design
  • Research & Evaluation
  • Legal Liability & Risk Management
  • Personal & Professional Qualities

The Collegiate Recreational Sports Professional Registry Commission is the governing body of the Professional Registry. The group of five members oversees application criteria, implement criteria for CEUs, and set administrative guidelines. Recruitment is currently underway for Commission members. The application deadline is March 19, 2010.
