In conjunction with the Collegiate Sport Club Symposium
The National Fitness & Wellness Institute focuses on fitness management and other issues in collegiate recreational sports. To minimize catering and meeting accommodation costs, and to maximize networking opportunities, 2011 event will be co-located with the Collegiate Sport Club Symposium and attendees can move freely between events. Because the event is highly specialized, attendees will learn a great deal about peer institutions, have numerous opportunities to network with colleagues, and gain valuable knowledge on trends and programs for the college and university setting. Each day
will bring a variety of educational sessions designed to stimulate thought and generate questions.
Attendees will gain the tools and resources needed to run programs on their campuses or fitness centers. Whether you're interested in starting, maintaining and/or expanding programs, you will get valuable fitness related information in a welcoming setting.
International Fitness Professional
Gay Gasper, International Fitness Professional, will conduct a three-hour fitness workout at the National Fitness & Wellness Institute on June 14. Gasper presents, writes and presents fitness workshops around the world and has choreographed and starred in a step video with LaToya Jackson and trained the NFL's New York Jets. Gasper has several top selling workout DVDs and is recognized as a 5-star fitness trainer.
Keynote Speaker
The 2011 National Fitness & Wellness Institute will feature keynote speaker Wayne L. Westcott, Ph.D. and strength training consultant for the United States Navy, the American Council on Exercise, the YMCA of the USA, and Nautilus. Dr. Westcott currently directs the Fitness Research Programs at Quincy College in Quincy, MA., where he developed the College’s Exercise Science Major. He is the author of 24 textbooks on strength training as well as an editorial advisor for numerous publications, including The Physician and Sportsmedicine, ACSM’s Health & Fitness Journal,
Prevention, Shape, and On-Site Fitness magazines.
