The Conference Focus
This conference was created to prepare student leaders and young professionals as they take on the task of guiding others to live, work and play in a multicultural society. The ultimate goal of the conference was to develop and encourage conference participants to consider health, wellness and recreation as a career option.
A number of outstanding professionals were enlisted to serve as educators and role models by providing their expertise in topical areas and through sharing their experiences with student participants. Student participants were given an opportunity to discuss issues with peers from around the country. The ultimate goal is to create an atmosphere of interaction and exchange.
As the new century unfolds, we face many challenges regarding moral and ethical leadership. We are obligated to pick up the torch and seek out that leadership. It is our hope that this conference served as one of the many torches that seeks to provide a small glimmer of what we can become this year and beyond.
