More than 127 attendees participated in the 2009 NIRSA Collegiate Sport Club Symposium. Participants took advantage of seventeen different educational sessions, four roundtables and the vast experience of their colleagues to make this event so successful.

Attendees were inspired to rethink Hazing Education, Budgeting, Athletic Training for Clubs, Leadership for Club Officers and much more in the sport club world. Also, attendees were challenged to think about current and future trends in sport club and effects on their campus.

Everyone left feeling excited about the work they have ahead of them, and knowing that they can call on their colleagues for support, encouragement and advice.

Here's what a few attendees had to say:

  • The NIRSA Collegiate Sport Club Symposium is a MUST for Sport Club administrators. The opportunity to share ideas, learn what is working at other institutions and being able to identify how your program measures up to the others is so valuable. Michelle M. Messiha, Cal State Northridge
  • The Sport Club Symposium was one of the best NIRSA events that I have attended. It was great to share ideas with NIRSA colleagues from around the nation, and also find we have a lot of cohesion among Sport Club programmers. It was great to see perspectives from new professionals and learn from the seasoned veterans. I would recommend this event anyone who oversees Sport Club programming. Joe Schaffer, San Diego State University
  • I would recommend the CSCS to all sport club professionals. You benefit from several days of multiple educational sessions and have the opportunity to network with experienced, seasoned professionals. Ben Bettez, Boston College
  • Whether you are a beginner or a veteran the NIRSA Sport Club Symposium continues to provide pertinent information and inspiration in a very dynamic field. The balance of presentations, informal discussion, and networking opportunities in an intimate setting make this conference worthwhile for all sport club administrators. Mike Arnos, Miami University
