Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering while at the NIRSA Annual Conference! 

The work of NIRSA couldn’t happen without the volunteer efforts of our members, and it takes a lot of volunteers for all aspects of the Annual Conference to run smoothly. Conference volunteer opportunities include:

Registration: Assist with check-in, handing out name badges and conference materials.  All attendees need to check in, so this is a great way to meet many other NIRSA members. Work is divided into 1½ - 2 hour shifts depending on need.  

Session Monitors: Introduce session presenter; hand out and collect evaluation slips; attend the session; take a headcount; possibly assist with AV. Session monitors can help with one session, or several that they plan to attend.

Recreational Sports Exposition: Tasks vary and may include assisting with meeting and greeting attendees at the NIRSA booth, helping with regionstration, checking badges for the Associate Member Lounge Club Victory, and delivering various items to booths.

NIRSA Foundation Golf Tournament: Tuesday, April 20 only. Assist with pre-tournament setup, registration, pre-tournament contests, on-the-course contests, awards ceremony, and post-tournament cleanup.

NIRSA Foundation Fun Run: Friday, April 23 only. Assist with setup, registration, and cleanup.

NIRSA Foundation T-Shirt & Apparel Competition, Raffle & Sale: Various days/times throughout the Annual Conference. Sign up for one or more shifts to help staff the collection table and sale. You will be helping to collect, tag, organize and judge the submissions in a fun and fast-paced area.

NIRSA Foundation Career Opportunities Center (COC) presented by Star Trac: Greet candidates and employers, monitor computer usage, or assist with employee and candidate mailboxes. Greeters, roamers, and computer monitors help answer questions and ensure a smooth COC operation. 

To volunteer in any area, click the subject of the area(s) that interests you, include your contact information, and send.  The coordinator for that particular area will contact you with further details such as times, locations, and specific instructions. To volunteer for the COC, fill out the form and submit.
