ROBERT CAUGHLAN: An invited speaker for the 40th Earth Day, Robert "Birdlegs" Caughlan presents "Deep Roots, High Ideals," a brief history of the American environmental movement. As a true devotee of recreational sports, Rob Caughlan has been surfing for fifty years, and was the founding President of the Surfrider Foundation. MARISA MCGILLIARD: Marisa McGilliard has been involved in the sporting industry for over 12 years, beginning as a student-athlete at the University of Michigan where she co-founded Project REAL (Real Education About Life), a photo-documentary and social advocacy campaign pairing professionals with collegiate athletes, and culminating in positions with Nike and the Nike Foundation after graduating from law school. Currently, Marisa serves as the Executive Director of the Council for Responsible Sport (CRS), a nonprofit organization based out of Portland, Oregon, with a mission
is to establish new standards of environmental and social responsibility in sports. In addition to her work with the Council, Marisa is an attorney for GemStone Systems and co-founder of "Starting with Sports", an organization with taking an interactive global look at the empowerment of girls through sport.

JOE WATZ: Joe is the Associate Director of the Marketing and Business Development unit at Cal Recreational Sports. A Baby Boomer with 20 years of experience in experiential marketing, business development and relationship marketing, he's been with UC Berkeley for nine years and started the unit in 2003. Joe is the creator of the Caltopia and PLAYgreen experiential marketing events that have a combined average of over 46,000 attendees and 200+ sponsors, exhibitors, restaurants and performers annually. He has served as a consultant for over 30 campus recreational departments,
various units on the UC Berkeley campus and a number of national companies on developing marketing strategies that engage and inspire Generation Y.
