The NIRSA Foundation Board of Directors and the 2012 Host Committee are pleased to present the third annual Mark Fletcher Fun Run/Walk. Mark Fletcher was an avid runner and a beloved member of the NIRSA Family who passed away in 2009.

The Fun Run/Walk named in his honor supports the NIRSA Foundation, whose mission Mark was a strong advocate for. All proceeds from this event will go to the NIRSA Foundation, which supports educational programs and workshops, research, scholarships, publications, and professional development.

By popular request, the 2012 event will be a full 5K run/walk along the stunning 10' wide Bayshore Boulevard, the world's longest continuous sidewalk. En route, we will survey some of the city's most prestigious historic homes and modern condominiums on one side, while on the other you will take in breathtaking views of Tampa Bay!

Rain or shine, the Fun Run/Walk will begin at 7:00am and end near the Tampa Convention Center and everyone is invited to participate in this feel-good activity. Registered participants will receive a Mark Fletcher Fun Run/Walk t-shirt from the NIRSA Foundation booth at the conference in Tampa. You can register online or on-site.

Mark was passionately involved in the Association for 32 years and made many profound contributions to the profession. His service and distinctions included:

• Member of the NIRSA Foundation Board of Directors from 2002-2009, serving as Vice Chair in 2003-2004 before serving as Chair in 2004-2005
• Region II Vice President on the NIRSA Board of Directors from 1990 to 1992
• NIRSA State Director
• Host of regional and state conferences
• Presenter for countless sessions at NIRSA state, regional, national, and specialty conferences
• Outstanding member of numerous NIRSA Committees
• Region II Award of Merit Recipient (1990)
