NIRSA Foundation Career Opportunities Center: Information for Employers

Presented by Star Trac

If you are looking to fill a position at your institution, the Career Opportunities Center (COC) offers access to hundreds of job seekers. At the 2009 NIRSA Annual Conference, 400 candidates applied for jobs at the COC.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Register as a COC Employer when you register for the Conference. Register online by March 1, 2010 for best pricing. Institutional Members also receive a discount. See complete details on the conference registration pricing page. Only one person from each institution needs to register as the employer. The person who registers as an employer can create multiple folders for your institution.

Your COC Employer registration fee includes:

    COC Employer Mailbox
The primary means for candidates to apply for your job(s) on-site.

    Interview Booths
Interview candidates on-site! There is no extra charge to use the interview booths, but you must sign up to use the rooms at the COC. The rooms are reserved in one hour blocks for each day. The interview booths are not accessible during times the COC is closed.

Access to Presentation Rooms (extra fee)
If you wish to make a presentation to potential candidates on your employment opportunities, you must pay for and reserve a presentation room. Presentation rooms are available in both half-hour and one-hour time slots, and only to registered COC Employers.

  2. Check In
After you have checked in at the Conference Registration area and received your name badge, come to the COC to check in and activate your employer account.
  3. Checking Your Mailbox
You will need to show your conference name badge to check your mailbox at the COC. We will provide the person who registered the mailbox with name badge stickers to give other colleagues needing to check the mailbox. We recommend that you check your mailbox a few times each day. Be aware the COC is not open all day, each day. The mailboxes are not accessible during times the COC is closed.

We will be offering wi-fi in the COC, so be sure to bring your laptop!

Volunteer
The COC is staffed by students and professionals who volunteer to help.
