Simon maintains the scheduled (and sometimes spontaneous) communications to NIRSA members. He works with the NIRSA staff team to compile and copy-edit the biweekly eFASTNEWS and the monthly NIRSA Know. He also helps to keep our homepage clear and concise.
Simon is originally from Utah, by way of Colorado. There he spent a good deal of time skiing - a passion enabled by ten seasons working in the ski industry. Along the way, he managed to earn a B.A. in English from Colorado State University-Pueblo and get married. Simon and his wife Lydia have been living in Corvallis, Oregon since 2008, when he joined the Master's Program in Creative Writing at Oregon State University. He finished his degree in June, 2010 and is happy to be on board with NIRSA. In addition to skiing, Simon loves to play basketball, racquetball, ping-pong, and soccer -
you can catch him at Oregon State University’s Dixon Recreation Center on Sunday afternoons.
