John manages all technology related aspects of the NNC, including the upgrading of the NIRSA network, Web sites, and databases. John is an Information Technology executive with many years of experience in all areas of the technology field.
Previously as the director for an international first aid training company, John managed all the technical aspects of a company acquisition and merger, designed and managed multiple database driven Web applications and several other strategy projects. This work established the company as the third largest first aid training company in the world. Prior to that work John established himself in San Francisco, where he worked for several leading software, Internet and computer companies. Additionally he has run a technology consulting business assisting companies with
M&A’s, network infrastructure designs, network/computer security, project management, and designing and programming Web database applications. In 1994 John anticipated the enormous potential for growth the then-young Internet would offer businesses and co-founded Websuccess.com serving clients including the San Francisco Giants, Perot Systems, and Habitat for Humanity. John has also lectured and taught courses on network design, computer security, Web site designing/programming, and database management for several colleges in Oregon and California.
John holds an MBA in IT Management and a Bachelor Degree in IT Network Management. He holds Microsoft certifications in MCDBA, MCSE: Security, MCSA: Security. He also holds GSEC and Security+ certifications. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Eugene Branch of the PMI Willamette Valley Chapter. He likes to walk his dog along the beach, troubleshoot his golf game, work in his garden, and is finishing a book on Mergers and Acquisitions from the IT perspective.
