Cheri heads the Professional Development Department (formerly known as Education Department) and oversees all education, training, credentialing, research, and Annual Conference planning for the Association.
Cheri brings to NIRSA over 15 years of experience in professional event management, education program development, development of online courses, project management, and customer service. In working with the public sector, unions, and nonprofit organizations, she has honed her talents in management, efficiency, and teamwork.
An alumnus of the University of Colorado, Cheri's career has taken her from Colorado, to New York, California and now Oregon. A resident of Oregon’s state capital for over 10 years and a fitness instructor for 15 years, Cheri enjoys cheering on her sons, Hunter and Coben, at their Middle and High School events (basketball, football and track) hiking, visiting wineries, reading, and bringing her big chocolate lab to work.
