Cheryl works closely with the Director of Education on projects related to the Annual Conference, the National School of Recreational Sports Management, the National Recreation Facilities Institute, and continuing education units. She also coordinates the evaluation process for all NIRSA professional development offerings and works with State & Regional Workshop hosts to promote NIRSA.
Both she and her husband of 30 years (and counting) have lived mainly in the Corvallis area since elementary school. They are both loyal and avid fans of the OSU women's basketball team, and since 1992 have only missed 5 home games as well as attended several dinners with the coaching staff and team players. Cheryl also attends the OSU Beaver home football and men's basketball games with her father. She has two daughters, and is a newly deemed "empty nester."
When not working at the NNC or cheering (loudly) for the Beavers, you might find Cheryl hanging out with one of her girls or enjoying one of her hobbies. She is almost fanatic about decorating for any holiday, but has a keen interest in all interior decorating, landscape design, and is passionate about floral design. In fact, after taking classes at the local community college and moving on to work for several years in the floral industry, Cheryl now teaches floral design with the instructor who taught and inspired her!
