The NIRSA/USTA Tennis Ace Awards
Applications are due December 15, 2011
Recreational tennis is fast becoming more and more popular on university and college campuses; the NIRSA-endorsed USTA Tennis On Campus program has been instrumental in the growth in tennis participation on campuses across North America.
The NIRSA /USTA Tennis Ace Awards recognize the outstanding accomplishments in Tennis participation and promotion of the USTA Tennis On Campus Program; it is intended to reward the winning members of the program and to promote growth of tennis participation on campus. Honor the exceptional efforts of your institution's tennis program by submitting an application for 2012 NIRSA/USTA Tennis Ace Award.
This award will recognize an Institution Member and Profession Member that has been implementing NIRSA-endorsed USTA Tennis On Campus program on their campus
Presented each year at the Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo, awards will be conferred for the following areas:
- Evidence of growth of campus recreational play over the past year. Program growth over several years will be given extra consideration.
- Evidence of support for critical campus entities such as the recreation/intramural department, student government, and student body generally.
- Examples of publicity for campus tennis programs utilizing campus newspapers, e-mail, booster clubs, flyers, etc.
- Introduction of innovative features that may be unique and could be replicated at other universities, including cooperation with the varsity tennis program.
In addition to the beautiful laser-etched, spire awards, national winners and runner-ups will receive one full professional member registration to attend the annual NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Exposition.
