The Horace Moody Awards

Nominations are due December 15, 2011

We all get our start as students in collegiate recreation somewhere; many of us have been fortunate enough to have the path to student success clearly defined by an exceptional NIRSA mentor. Their encouragement, support, and commitment to excellence have made our educational pursuits exciting and rewarding.

Presented each year during the NIRSA Annual Conference, awards will be conferred on individuals who have made a lasting difference in one or more of the following areas:

• Attending Student Lead Ons or the Emerging Recreational Sports Leadership Conference
• Serving on the NIRSA William N. Wasson Student Leadership and Academic Awards Committee
• Serving on the Student Professional Development Committee
• Participating as a mentor to students
• Participating in the Take a Student to Lunch session during the 2011 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo
• Presenting at Student Professional Workshops
• Volunteering in the NIRSA Foundation's Career Opportunities Center

Each nominee will receive a letter of notification regarding nomination for this award, ensuring that all nominees are recognized for their outstanding service. Winners will be announced at the NIRSA Annual Conference's regional meetings; additionally, winners will be recognized during the Student Business Meeting. The six award winners will receive an inscribed plaque and be recognized in the NIRSA KNOW.

Nominations are due December 15, 2011: so don't miss this opportunity to honor the collegiate recreation professionals who are outstanding mentors to aspiring students in higher education recreation!
