NIRSA is the leading resource for professional and student development, education, and research in collegiate recreational sports.

The University Network

The University Network is a private, for-profit company that specializes in placing Electronic Communication Displays (high-tech plasma screens) inside premier campus recreational sports facilities at no cost to the university. While the Electronic Communication Displays will show movie trailers and other commercial advertisements, an important part of the program is that for any paid commercial advertisements displayed on the screen there is a generous revenue sharing agreement with the institution and NIRSA. The program was sanctioned by the NIRSA Services Corporation (NSC) in Cleveland, Ohio in April 2003, and a formal agreement between NIRSA and The University Network has since been executed.

A second important part of the program is that the displays can be used by the University (especially the Recreational Sports Department) for their own announcements and in-house promotions, allowing them to communicate with their students in a way that they can relate to – digitally. TUN has provided many of our members an exciting and effective tool for on-campus multimedia communications and revenue generation. TUN also provides production assistance at no charge. In addition, for any paid commercial advertisements displayed on the screen there is a generous revenue sharing agreement with the institution and NIRSA.
