NIRSA Sports
Collegiate Recreational Sports consist mainly of Intramural Sports (Team A vs Team B from the same school), Sport Clubs (often a higher level of skill, with individuals practicing and competing against other collegiate club teams) and Extramural Sports (Intramural teams competing outside the university, generally in regional or national extramural events).
NIRSA offers or endorses a variety of sport programs, tournaments and/or events. The National Campus Championship Series brand was created to generate greater national appeal and campus credibility for the Association, and raise recognition, awareness, and visibility for true student athletes.
The USA Tennis On Campus program was developed by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to help college campuses create and expand recreational opportunities for their students through team-based coed league play. Whether you are a Recreational Sports Director, Intramural Sports Director, Sport Club Director or just an interested group of students on campus that want to develop a social, fun tennis league -- USA Tennis On Campus is the program for you.
Additional Sport Resources
The following intramural rules were developed by the NIRSA Intramural Committee and are meant as guidelines. NIRSA recognizes the fact that there is a national diversity of programs, and some situations/rules may be neither appropriate nor feasible for every institution. Therefore, all colleges/universities should select the most appropriate course of action for their individual program.
Sports Officials Education Materials can be found on the NIRSA Education & Publication Center. Rulebooks, manuals and training DVDs and Officials' Clinician Kits that were developed by NIRSA Committees can be purchased from this site.
A NIRSA Endorsed Program, NIRSA Insurance can provide Institutional Members with Accident Insurance Programs for Sport Clubs and Intramural Sports.
